Dear Mother and Daddy,
I just recieved your letter. I was slightly surprised at Shirley's expecting to stay with me. In your letter it seemed that they had not decided whether they were planning to come this week-end or antoher one, and also that I would at least hear from Shirley if they were planning to come. I tentatively reserved a bed for Shirley, but there are so many people living in the house, that there were only three extra beds. Since everyone was frantically looking for beds for guests I had to give it up. And since I haddn't heard from Shirley at least by today, and you had said no more about it, I just assumed that they had decided not to come this week-end. So I don't have any place for her to stay.

I am sure I could find some place to put her some where on campus if she is coming, but I do think that at least one of them should have informed me of their plans. If you will please ask them to do so in some way, I will be only too happy to do my best. But I can't really guarantee anything now as their are so many people coming up. Just tell them if they come I shall be sure and have somewhere for them.
Nothing much has happened since I wrote you last on Sunday. I have had an accounting problem due every day this week, which to say the least does keep me just slightly bussy. I have also been expecting an unannounced test in Business Law, and on Monday I have to hand in a statement on how much outside reading I have done for my Public

Administration course. So you can see my time is occupied. I have also had a little time to practice; I am going down now as soon as I finish this. I am enclosing an article from the "Stanford Daily" about Dr. Popper and his wife that I thought you might be interested in.
Please convey my message to Bobbie and Shirley. I do hope that I havn't broken any of their plans, and I do hope that they can come, but I am a little amazed at their expecting me to have had all the arrangements made for them when I had no definite word from them.
Love to all,
Mary
