Dear Mother and Daddy,
I do have wonderful news, at least I hopethat you will think so; Ruth's plans for Thanksgiving have more or less fallen through. Lloyd Merriman's mother had asked Dilys Jones (the girl that goes with Lloyd), Ruth and Buck Brownson to come home with Lloyd for Thanksgiving. But now Dilys's mother and father want her home for Thanksgiving, and Ruth doesn't feel she should go to Lloyd's, as the only girl. I have been telling her how much you and I want her to come home with me, and so I think quite definitely that

she will, if we can get a ride down for her, and I feel quite sure that we can. Ruth has said several times how much she appreciates your wanting her to be there and I know under the circumstances she would much prefer to come home with me than go to Lloyd's. I am so glad she is coming, because I feel almost indebted to her for life, besides the fact that I would love to have her come anyway. As far as I know, you can expect her to arrive with me, but if any little unexpected thing comes up I shall let you know immediately. I do hope her coming won't inconvenience you but I do so much want her to come.
