Dear Mother,
I have here the list of people that I would like to invite to my announcement tea. It includes most of the girls that I knew in high school and also at Stanford that live in Los Angeles. You had better show it to Shirley because I may have left out someone she may want to have that we both know and also I know there will be other people that I probably won't know that she would like to ask. The small list is a list of girls that live in the house that I will have to ask verbaly, because they don't know Shirley and

would be rather suspicious if they got an invitation to a tea for her. The list turned out to be rather long, and if you think it is too long I shall try and cut it. I also thought it might be nice to include Nancy Pehl and Margaret Rust since she asked me to her party. But I don't think I should ask Margareet and not Nancy.
You probably will want to have it around March 23 or 24 since I will get home the nineteenth or twentieth. I sort of feel that U.C.L.A. or S.C. will not be out of vacation at that time, but you can find that out from Shirley and Margie. If school is in session it might be best to have it

from four to six; so that more people will be able to come. They might not be through with school any earlier in the day.
I keep trying to figure out some clever way to announce it at the party. The only thing I have thought of so far is that you can have little cards printed like those formal notes we have with our names on front. They would have "Bethrothed" on the outside and then our names on the inside. We would have to hand those out at the door. However, I may be able to think of something better.

than two weeks before. That is about the usual time and besides we mustn't give people to much time to think about these things.
I have tried to give you all the addresses that I had. I have a duplicate list and have those names checked that I do not have the addresses for and I will send those to you when I get them.
I can't think of anything else to discuss right now, but I will wrightit when I do.
