Dear Mother and Daddy,

It was so much fun to have Margie up here; I only wish she could come up more often - except if she did I probably wouldn't have Jack for long if she were. I put her on the train this morning, and after I got home I felt quite lonesome. I'm sure I must have had more fun having her up here than she had coming. I got her home on Thursday just in time to have dinner. Jack brought us in fron the station. He comes in from work about six which was just about the time Margie got here. As soon as we sat down to dinner some boy phoned for Margie and came over to see her immediately afterwards. So she spent the evening entertaining him. Jack came back over

later and all four of us went out for a coke. The next day I thought I was going to have a test, and I studied like mad the next morning while Margie slept. I took her to the Cellar for breakfast and then went down to my Business Law Class shaking in my shoes and found of course that I wasn't going to have a test. The means I shall have to worry all week about having it. When I got back we went up to the City, and had a fabulous lunch at the El Parado. After lunch we went shopping for a dress, but found absolutely nothing. The black dress you described does sound awfully pretty, but I honestly don't like the idea of wearing one to my party, especially since it is going to be the beginning of spring. I do think that

some kind of a pastel would be so much nicer.

We got home about five-thirty and immediately went up to the Delt House to hash for dinner. They had their pledge dinner that night - all the fraternities aid and they usually ask girls to hash for them. Kay, Illie, Sally Teachout, Kim Nalkas, Nancy Naylor, and Margie and me went. It was loads of fun - but they really made us work as hard as any regular hashers. They gave up all little presents from the ten cent store and little poems to go with them. They made the most of the situations in that Jack and I were both there - it was most embarassing but at least the boys enjoyed it. I got a pair of spiers, and Margie got a valleybuggy. They were all made for Margie, you would have thought she'd have known them all for

years. After we got through hashing we came back to the house, and I went out to the basketball game with Jack and Margie went out with Dick House who had come down from G.O.P. to see her. I wore Margie's green skirt which was simply fabulous. I don't think I have ever had so many compliments on a skirt in my life. Even Jack was mad for it; I just about hid it away so I could keep it here. Saturday morning I had my class and Saturday afternoon we just fooled around - we went around and saw some people she knew and then went into town and got ourselves a small goodie. Saturday night Jack took us both to the basketball game and afterwards met Milt Iverson who was supposed to go with Margie.

We went to the pledge party at the Delt House. It was a fun party, but not too tremendous. I was so set on her having a spectatular time, and I'm afraid she didn't, but she did like Milt, and I'm sure that she did like him. Sunday afternoon we just fooled around showing Margie the things around the school. Kay also went with us. Then Jack came over and had dinner with us and we just fooled around afterwards.

Margie was telling me about what you are doing to the house, it sounds simply fabulous. I'm sure I will never recognize it. I'm so glad you are having senic wall paper, and painting the wall green. I just can't imagine what it is going to look like. I do think it would be best to let Shirley do what she
