Dear Mother and Daddy,

I am sorry that I have waited so long to write you, but this last week has been almost as bad as finals week itself. Last Friday I had a quiz in Business Law. It was an unannounced one, but I knew it was coming, so I did prepare rather hard for it. We have just been studying the part about negotiable instruments, and it is awfully complicated. This morning I had a test in my Christainity course which really was just awful. We were responsible for the entire New Testament and a book explaining the New Testament. I studied all day Saturday, and again all day Sunday for it, and I still don't think I did too well. I now have just one more - one in International Relations, this Friday. I am glad Margie

came when she did before I got snowed under with work. Jack did come over for dinner on Sunday night, but he couldn't stay because I had to study. We also went to a play they gave here on campus. It was called Winterset. It was very good but terribly depressive, so I didn't really enjoy it too much although I was very glad of having the opportunity to see a play like that just to see what they are like. That was all we did last week-end.

I have to go to my music lesson tomorrow. The man, Henry Holt, is really quite good, but nothing could be as good as Dr. Popper. They are great friends and are always playing together. They play the accompaniments for quite a few little operas like the one you saw. I probably won't enjoy him as much as I enjoyed Dr. Popper, but

he will give me anything to learn that I want to learn - and isn't forcing anything on me that I arn't want to learn. I think he decided to do this because he knew I was only going to be with him until June. He has already given me two wonderful new Chopin pieces - one is an elude, and the other is a Polonaise. He has also made me review some of my old pieces. I don't think you need to worry about my warning any thing.

I sort of glanced through the Vogue patterns the other day and found one design that I thought would be adorable. I can't remember now too well what it looked like, but I am going back down town soon and look through them again. If I do decide I like it or something, I will get the pattern and try and get some samples that might be

pretty for it and send them home.

There really hasn't been much to write about since Margie left. I have been doing little but studying and practicing. Jack usually comes over for a while in the evening, but he won't stay for very long if he knows that I am having a test.

Right now I think I'd best go to bed, I didn't want to wait any longer to write you, or I probably would have gone long ago.

Love to all,

Mary~
