Dear Mother,

I am enclosing the addresses of the girls you don't have. Kay, Sally Teachout and Phyllis Talmage are going to be in Carmel and Mary Ellen is going to Idaho, so none of them will be there. I am awfully sorry, but I'm sure there will be quite a few people there regardless.

I do agree with you that I would feel much better about the whole thing if Mrs. Carpenter were in the receiving line. She really should be there I suppose, and if she were it would eliminate the problem of her being entertained while she was there; she might feel just a little lost when we wouldn't be able to talk

to her and not knowing anyone. I do think something might be worked out at the door - but then I don't know what we could do with Shirley's little cards. We couldn't very well hand out two things. Maybe there could be a huge basket on a stand in the corner where the clock is with a huge egg in the middle of some other things saying "Betrothed - Mary and Jack". But I would still just adore to have what you have planned in the dining room, and both might be too much. But I do wish you could work something out. I'm just so sorry I'm not there to help.

I do wish you would do me a favor and get me a nice pair of stockings to wear with my dress. I do have some that are wearable, but not any that don't have a

lot of snags in them - and I would like to have a nice perfect pair to wear.

I do hope you don't have too much trouble with all of this. I keep wondering what the house will look like - I can hardly wait until I get home to see it.

I thought that I might not pass candy here, but I think that I will now. If I tell them all I don't think that the secret will leak out, and I know all the girls would be disappointed if I didn't since so much excitement is always involved. Besides Kay, Sally, and Phyllis won't be at the tea and I'd want to tell at least Kay any way before I came home. Well here is a luck to

night eve had the senior ice cream sale and we went around to all the houses selling it in the car. It was loads of fun - it makes so much noise, and the horn is so distinctively no one could possibly miss it.

This afternoon one of my professors, the one for this music class has asked the class over for tea - so I think I'd best go. He is my professor for this education course I have been taking. I won't know anyone there very well, but it should be nice.

I do hope everything is coming along all right. I keep wondering if the drapes and things have come. I know they will look wonderful.

I have just gotten my reservation to come home, and I am coming on the noon Daylight on the nine-teenth of March.

Love to all,

Mary
