Dear Mother and Daddy,
Once again there really isn't very much to write you. I have started on my regular schedule again of two tests a week. This time one is Global Geography and another in Russia. I have been trying to put quite a bit of time in on them, but the more I seem to study; the less I seem to think I know.
Last Saturday I went to the beach with Ruth Dilys, and Sally. It was the most wonderful day in the world - except it was really too nice. I got quite sunburned. One of the boys we knew very well, Ted Nell, has a beach house on the ocean

front down at Rieo del Mar. We had to be in Los Angeles this weekend with the baseball team and so he gave us the key to the house so we could use it. The house has a balcony in the front and we stayed out there most of the day. We did do a little studying and played a little bridge. There wasn't anyone around but just us and we really did have a wonderful time.
On the way back, about six o'clock, we stopped at a place called The Holy City. It is a little town just off the road where some Jewish sect thought they were going to start a new sect to revolutionize the world. They have writtings and strange pictures all

over the buildings about the "world's perfect governments can solve the problems to all social ills".
They also have several vaults around that are supposed to be opened at various times and some not until "the end". We got some material they had there and had a big laugh about it on the way home.
You have never heard anything so ridiculous or anything written in such bad grammar. The prize sentence was "Prepare to meet they God, real soon".
Last Sunday Dr. Evans came up to preach and so I went to hear him.
I had heard you speak of him so much that I wanted to see what he was like, and I was certainly impressed. In fact

I was so impressed that I went again that night to hear him. He is certainly wonderful - but I must say I would hate to get into an argument with him. He would probably lay you flat on the floor in two minutes.
Yesterday and today I have spent my time studying. As yet I don't know when he is coming up, at least not until the end of the week, anyway I do hope that it isn't before Thursday now. He seems very interested in this job with National Cash Register in the South (L.A.) so I just may be living at home after all. Let's hope so.
