Dear Mother and Daddy

You will be glad to know that I have been studying hard all afternoon. I won't have to go to class very often, but I have loads of homework. I have only three classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 'til 12, one class on Tuesday at 8, and two classes on Thursday, one at 8 and a lecture at 10. to find out anything very favorable concerning music lessons. If I did take any I would probably have to go into San Francisco. I can, however, make arrangements to practice which I am going to do whether I take any lessons or not.

I haven't told you yet how pleased I was with my room. The things that we got are just darling and everyone loves them. I have only seen one or two rooms which I thought as cute as mine. It will be just perfect when the curtains come. I don't believe I am going to need a lamp. If you do send one, however, send a floor lamp because I won't have room on my desk for one. Also if there is another clock around you might send it, asI have been having difficulty in making this one keep correct time.

There is one thing I want you to send me immediately, that is your copy of H.G. Wells' Outline Of History. I need it badly for my Western Civilization course.

I am going to press some clothes now but I will write more later.

Love to all, Mary
