Dear Mother and Daddy,
I have received most of the packages. I am writing on the gift that Mrs. Carroll sent to me. The present that I got from Aunt Sis was a very pretty red compact. The curtains have come but I've not had time to put them up yet, but I certainly do think that they're pretty. I am very pleased with my room. It's much cuter and brighter than most but I think I would like another rug if you can get one, especially since I may have a larger room next quarter.
You have absolutely no idea how much I have been working. I never seem to have time for anything but studying anymore. I'm having a test in geology tomorrow, I can hardly wait.

Last Sunday Roble had an Open House and invited all the men on campus but none of the other women, therefore, it was a huge success; but I, true to form, broke a record. I also did all the announcing for a little talent show we had. It was very impromptu and therefore loads of fun.
Every Wednesday night the soldier [seving?] orchestra gives a program from 7:00 to 7:30. I went tonight with one of the soldiers. His name was Jack Ketchem (Don't I pick them with funny names). He was very nice, tall and handsome, but I don't think that he was very interested.
I put my appearance in at the Bank today. They were very nice and said they had been waiting for me to come in, but I hadn't needed to before.
I have to study for my test now so.
Love to all, Mary
