November 27, 1944

Dear Mother and Daddy,

Well, I'm back to the old routine again. I certainly hated to leave home just as I was getting settled, but then I will be home again in another month. If you decide to go and see Bobbie in Arizonia on Christmas and want to leave before I get home maybe I could get a train ticket from here there instead of going from here home. I doubt if I will bring Ruth home because I think that she plans to meet her mother in Ohio.

The train trip was very uneventful. I dozed and did my Spanish most of the day. The scenery was much prettier too because everything was green. It was raining a little all the way here up from Santa Barbara and by the time we got to Palo Alto it was pretty wet. We had rather a hard time with the luggage too - honestly, I've never carried such a dead weight as that music and by

the time I got to Roble my arm had nearly dropped off. We got in Roble and just barely made dinner, but I didn't feel like earing very much - which was fine since as soon as I got to my room Bob called and wanted to know if I had gotten any dinner; he came over later with Jim and they took Sally and me into Palo Alto where we all got a banana split. Today every one got sick from them except me - my stomach must be immune by now.

As usual I need some things to be sent along with everything else. I need a new checkbook and I want the rest of my little pictures in my graduation dress, since I've promised one to both Sally and Ruth. Also when you get Bobbie's new address could you give it to me so that I can send him some joke books.
