Dear Mother and Daddy,

I have just finished writing two English comps. One of the structure and mechanism of the leaf and the other a criticism of borrowing. It certainly is a relief to get them done they were really an interprise, since I had to write about 1,500 words. I've been sitting on the floor typing all day.

All of the college social life is over for the quarter. Dead week begins next week which is the week to prepare for finals, and that is followed by finals week. It is really quite something to look forward to, forward to the day after it's over with anyway. They had the last big dance of the year last night only I didn't go. appear there. So we just went out to a late dinner at a very nice place. Naturally the boy with whom Sally had broken the date was there too, which proved rather an embarrassing situation for her, so we might as well have gone to the dance.

I havn't done anything else lately but study, except yesterday afternoon Sally and I went in to get our train tickets home. When we arrived at the station we found that they wouldn't accept a check for the ticket so we had to go into Palo Alto to get a check cashed. No one would cash anything more than a five dollar check; so we had to go to four different places and cash four different checks, which wasn't too nice for my bankbook. It was the only thing we could do though since the banks were all closed. We finally got the tickets though and we are coming home on the night of the 21st on the Coaster. That is a day sooner than I thought I would get home, and I'm very glad of it.

I must stop now and go read a Spanish story and study for a Civ. test.

Love to all, Mary -
