January 21, 1945

Dear Mother and Daddy,

I certainly had a lovely week-end. Friday night I didn't go anywhere, but I was just as glad because I was rather tired and I got about twelve hours sleep that night.

Saturday night was certainly fun. Jim and Bob took Sally and me into San Francisco to dinner and to see the play "Blithe Spirit". The play was awfully funny. It was about this man whose first wife came back to haunt him after he had remarried. It was very cute.

This morning was a most beautiful morning. It was very clear and cold. I went to chapel with Janet Raisch who is the girl across the hall. Tonight Gertie Keystone had her little dinner party. She had me, Sally [Seitch], Kay, Ruth, and a girl named Cecil Harwick. She had boys for all of us from Tyler Hall. We had loads of fun because everyone knew everyone else so well. All of us girls go around together most of the time and the boys are the same way; and each

boy in the Tyler Hall group dates a girl from our little group. Consequently everyone knows everything about everyone else. We certainly had a gay time; I was with George.

Now I shall have to get down to studying again
