Dear Mother,
About the clothes, I'm sending back the sketch I'd like my blue dress made like. I think it would be quite smart looking and it has nice straight lines. If it needs some trimoning, I think that dark blue would be the best. I'd thought about the suit too, and I thought that instead of getting a very dressy one I'd get a dark blue one rather like my purple suit and then it would be just wonderful next fall for up here. I've gotten so much good out of it, but if the light blue suit is going to cost thirty dollars, maybe I'd better not get it - I thought that I'd rather wait until next winter to get a dressy suit when I could get a black one and when I'd get a lot more good out of it, but I don't, you'ed better tell me what you think. I know though that I'd like my blue material made like this picture. It's awfully nice of you to have it made for me.
