1645 WIth high probability turning the III display processer on when all of the processers stopped will result in 4 locations in AMPEX memory getting bad parity zeroes written in them. Both ampex boxes end up not VA. It looks like ampex is taking a nothing cycle whenever III power gets turned on. SRR

After some suspicious system messages about disk errors, the disk turned on the "WRITE ERROR" red light.

BAND = 345₈ TRK = 0 SAR = 202₈ Took disk off-line. That sector has a parity error on read. Tried WRITE (offline). Got WRITE ERROR. Both all ZEROS and all ONES in the data register gives WRITE ERROR. seems to be independent of sector on that Band + TRK. The error happened about 8 hours late; The traditional time for this kind of thing is 5 PM Friday afternoon. J. Sauter S. Russell
