Dear Mom and Dad,

I'm sorry to be so delinquent in my correspondence,
but as of late I've really been snowed under by mid-
term tests and term papers. I wrote a term paper on
Genie and the marketing methods usedby Colgate to
intorduce it for my marketing course. Uncle Joe
helped me very much on it and I intend to send the
sales manager of the household division a thank-you
note after I finish this letter. I finished Sunday the
term paper which was the estimate of the Gross national
product for 1959, it was tough (I estimated 480.3 billion, Dad, what do you think). I want to take this
opportunity to thank you [Daddy|Dad] for the two sources of
reference which you supplied me with. They were a great
help, and saved a lot of time. Also I was very happy
to hear about the job with Mr. Allen, it sounds like a
priceless opportunity which I am very happy to get.

I have a little bad news in the financial dept.
I'll need 88 dollars for tuition as I have to regester
by mail this semester for next year. It has gone up
because of the new union which I am being forced to
pay for. The only way that I'll be able to use this
wonderful new union is to flunk several courses. I
decided to pass the courses and give the union to the
future freshmen, another case of my generation carrying
the burden for the war babies. Life is tough.
