The last scene of the play represents
the outside of the foot-ball
field near the training house.
Suddenly the gate burst open and
the supposed California team rushed
from the field left the orchestra
and fled from the hall. Then
the Stanford team lined up on the
stage and gave the yell.

After a few songs and yells
we dispersed and went to our rooms,
all but a few fools who insisted
on going to Menlo and making a
night of it. I don't object to a
man's taking a glass of beer now
