There were just six of us around the table. We called it truth, because we were all sworn to tell the truth, because we were all sworn to tell the truth. We piled our hands, one on top of the other, then decided on a certain number, arbitrarily. The bottom hand then pulls out on one and is put on the top of the pile, then the one left on the bottom comes out on two, is put on top of the pile and so on. The person whose hand is drawn out on the twenty-nine, if tat be the number, is it. Then each of the others have a right to ask a question and that individual is bound to tell the truth. We made Nell tell about the Mexican who fell in love with her, and embarrassed the rest by asking if they were in love, whom they liked best in the University, etc., and so on. Of course my own experience was not such as to make the questions embarrassing or particularly interesting.

Well, with much love to you, I'll close.

Dear Helen,
I send you a small package which contains two letter openers which are for Mell and Emery. If you have something else for them, do as you please with these. They are Japanese metal, not silver of course, but the kind used for so many such articles and stamp cases, etc.
