Beautiful scenery down
the grade from Williams
Horse-shoe bend in the
mountains
Tried to get our cars
set off a day at Peach
Springe to visit the
Colorado canon
Left Peach Springs at
12 midnight
Friday Oct 27 1893
The way we went was not
slow we beat passenger
time all drallon
Arrived Yucca 5-30 AM
White sand follows the
train in clouds
Crossed the Colorado
at 6.30 AM at

Mellen At this point it
is about 40 rods wide
Follow the river northward
some 12 miles
to the needles
At the needles the
river is about one half
mile wide
Indian Squaws at the
train to sell wares -about
20
Indian village just
outside of The Needles
Indians working as
section hands at the
needles
Flag of truce over
the Indian camp
