Of course foot-ball is all the go now. Our team goes in training tomorrow for the great game with our rivals on Thanksgiving.

We have a very large freshman class this year 421 entered at the beginning of the year. There are over 1100 students

here all together.

We had a Jewish Rabbi from San Francisco speak to in the chapel this morning. He said some very good things. The idea of his sermon was that there was too great a breach between the ideals and the life we led. We would hear great and good sermons and go right away and live as we had been living before. Our Ideal should be liveable and we should live it.

rest as I don't see that any apology is needed.

I thank you for the photos. very much indeed.

I often think of Uncle Theo. and wonder how funny he must feel without his business. I should not wonder but that he will long for it many times, for he has led such a very active life for so many years. I hope he will greatly improve in health and that his rest will be a great help to him.

I have not played any foot-ball since I have been to Stanford. I enjoy seeing a game very much but Papa did not wish me to play when I went to Prep. school, so have not played any since then.

The latter part of your letter made me very glad, for I have always thought the same of [Thede?] myself.

I received a letter from Aunt Annie last Friday. She wrote to thank me for some Stanford monograms that she has asked me to send to her for Grace Towne. It seems she wanted them to paste on a fan
