Dear Mom, Dad
Signs of the skiing season have appeared. The Stanford Ski Club had its first meeting last night and I am now a member. They showed 2 movies (one of competitive Swiss skiing and one taken at Aspen). Rex Kramer heard of a boot sale at the Sport Shop and we went over there yesterday. I found what I wanted in a Austrian made Kistinger boot - and bought them. They are a finer boot than the "Hinki Victor" which I had in mind (both $30 boots). It is better to own the boots and rent skis (which can be easily damaged in 1 season).

The Alpine Club went to Yosemite last week - end, but I was deep in a M.E. report and was unable to go. I may go climbing in Marin County Sunday, but will have to see how the homework goes. Oct 30 I went to Berkley and Instructed - Gen Didn't go along
I had 2 midterms today - the same 2 as two weeks ago. (Diff Equns and Mach. Design). ROTC Midterm is Monday and worth 25% of our grade. Work will be very heavy until Nov 21 when my next lab report is due.
The game Saturday was really a thriller to listen to. I hope the Big Game is that good. By the way, the army color guard will perform for the Oregon Game (on T V locally) and I will be on a 6 man color guard for the Big game (carrying the regimental flag).

some news - Gene's brother Wade was visiting us several weeks ago. He is in the Navy abord a carrier and has invited me on a tour of the ship sometime during thanksgiving. Ought to be quite interesting.
Will be able to write more often when this lifts.
