LELAND STANFORD JUNIOR UNIVERSITY - STUDY CARD

Consult the Announcement of Courses for particular information as to courses outlined in the Schedule.

This card properly filled out and approved by the major department, is to be filed with the Registrar on or before August 31. Study Cards not so filed will be accepted only upon payment of an additional fee of two dollars. Students registering after August 31 must obtain, in addition to approval of major professor, the written indorsement of the instructor in each subject registered. All 'incomplete' or 'conditioned' work to be made up during the semester must be duly entered on this card.

Fifteen units constitute an average semester's work. Students may register for as few as thirteen, or as many as eighteen units, except that where conditions or failures have been incurred in the preceding semester not more than fifteen units may be registered unless by special permission of the Committee on Registration granted in advance. Permission to register for less than thirteen units may be granted for special reasons; but registration for less than ten units will not ordinarily be accepted. All petitions for irregular units should be presented at the beginning of the semester. Graduate students are expected to devote at least half of their working time to university study.

The student is expected to call for this card at the end of the semester, and to preserve it as a record of standing. It will be mailed to the student if a stamped and addressed envelope is left at the Registrar's Office.

EXPLANATION OF MARKS '+,' Passed. '±,' Condition. '(—)', Failed. 'Inc.,' incomplete (but quality of work not below passing grade). 'W,' withdrawal from class before definite record has been made. 'o. k.,' conditioned or incomplete work made good. The letter 'n' indicates continuous course, final credit not being given for the first semester until the second semester's work is completed.
