Winter Quarter 1947

Jan 9, 1947.

Meeting called to order by Pres. Delbert Wong at 7:50 Minutes read by Leila Ding. Helen Chinn gave report on Intercollegiate Conference.

1. Will be renamed [Interest?] Organization - to be year round affair instead of just annual.

2. Oratorical contest - a trophy to be awarded

3. Feb 14-16 - at U.C.L.A.

Hank Lew report on the alumni meeting.

Jan. 24 at Far East Cafe - next meeting [Alumni?]: 7:00 [?]/$50/person

John Chin report on basket-ball team.

President Delbert Wong suggested that we start in now reserving hotel space for the coming Big-Game dance in the Face. A committee was appointed.

Election of officers

President :- Dorothy Chin. Baron Low. George Leong. Tim Lum. LonNom. Chan

Baron Low was elected.

Vice President :- [Fonny?] Ho, Austen [Chin?], Janny [Ching?]. Jack Quan.

[Fonny?] Ho was elected

The first meeting for the Autum 1946 was held on September 28, 1946 and was called to order by President Tim Lum at 8:30. John Leong read the minutes. Election of officers were held. Three elected were as follows -- President - Delbert Wong Vice [President] - George Leong Secr.-treasurer - Leila Ding

Delbert Wong then presided over the remainder of the meeting and the following activities were discussed.

1. Intercollegieate Conference

I twas decided that a basket-ball game consisting a northern and southern league and a record hop dance were to take place at Stanford. Tentative date for this event was Nov. 2. George Leong was appointed chairman of the dance and Samuel Leong was appointed athletic manager.

2. Skating party

A skating party was also planned tentatively. We may ask San Jose State to Join in.

3. Dues were assessed of members at $2.00.

President Delbert Wong adjourned the meeting at 9:45

The first meeting for the Winter 1946 Quarter was held on Jan. 1[1?], 1946 with President Gordon [Chen?] presiding.

The order of business included the following :-

1. Election of Officers :-

The following were elected : Pres, Gordon [Chen?] ; vice president, Tim [Leem?] ; & Secretary-Treasurer, Stan Wong.

2. Social for quarter.

Decided to have only one function. There were many suggestions from the floor, [but?] an informal open record dance was voted upon most favorably. The social chairman was supposed to decide on the date at which the Women's Clubhouse would be available.

3. Intercollegiate Conference.

George Leong informed the group that Stanford is the host for this year's conference. He asked for everyone's cooperation.

4. Dues

It was moved & passed to have $2.00 for this quarters dues.

May 28, 1918.

Special Meeting.

Chairman Mei called this special meeting to order at 8:10 P.M. Mr. J. H. Hall and Mr. H. W. Pai were absent.

In the recent protest of the club to the Western Section of the C. S. A., which was printed in the Chinese Newspapers, opposing the money-raising campaign in San Francisco to subsidize delegates to the conference at Seattle, Mr. [R. H??. Chin], chairman of the West. Sect. C. S. A., has replied our protest in the papers in an attacking and humiliating tone toward our club, which was intolerable. In order to answer his article, so as to vindicate the club's honor, it will cost the club $10.25 to have our reply printed. It was moved and seconded that we should our reply and the cost of $10.25 to be paid from the club treasury. The matter was voted upon and passed by a majority.

Mr. W. J. Chang presented his resignation as treasurer. A discussion followed and finally accepted by a majority vote. No one was elected to take his place.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 P.M.

Winter quarter - Jan 2, 1929

The meeting was called to order by President How. The minutes of last meeting was read and passed. The report of the treasurer took place and it was accepted. The problem about athletics were discussed - Mr. Ed. Fong moved that the U.C. team of the Basket-ball be invited for dinner after the last game; it was passed. The athletic manager was ordered to take the charge of this matter. It was discussed that room rent in the Club House and the membership fee for the quarter must be paid to date.

Mr. Tuan moved & recorded that the members of the Club be divided into several groups, each of which be responsible for the arrangement of a program for a meeting. Mr. Lee amended to Mr. Tuan's motion that the President appoints a social committee for each coming

any room. Clean shoe before coming in the House. Clean Keep the rooms in good order. Then the matter of the detaining of the Chinese students was announced and left to the attention of the new president. Secretary was told to write another letter to the U.C. Club about the question. The work in the Students' Conference about the unifying of the students body in the U.S. was mentioned. If any {inserted line}to consult with the colleges along the coast.{/insert} difficulties, reports should be handed in to Students' Monthly. An article about the proceedings to be written by the secretary.

Membership dues called, Eating Club schedule announced, by Mr. Wu, the Eating Club manager.
