During the second week I got my Fin + BGIE midterm grades on Tuesday Apr 15 and also my MKG final grade on Thursday Apr 17 at 2:30 and then started to pack. Wednesday I went over + over the decision and spent time talking with Pat Light. But in any case I spent the next several days packing and went to the B-school show on Saturday Night Apr 19 with Bill. He took me on a tour of Harvard with Doris + her girlfriend from Atlanta that afternoon. Sunday wasn't too busy [AELparJ???] and Monday April 21, my birthday, was a holiday so I couldn't move to Bekins. Thought about decision again, went sightseeing at the Prudential Bldg, and told Len my decision. Then Tuesday, Apr 22, moved all my stuff to Bekins with Bill's car and settled everything administrative there at Harvard and was ready to fly (ESCAPE) on Wednesday Apr 23 morning. Off to California. Flight # 7 seat 7-21. "Great Santini." Was very smoggy on arrival but I was happy to be here. Dinner first night at Andres. Spent the next few weeks just finding a car, and apartment, a bank etc. Moved in to apt first week of May. Bought 280ZX first though during first week here paying $3000 down on Sunday Apr 27th on following reasoning:
1) Could pay $8000 for nice small car like Mustang or Capri ($6500-8500) or Scinreco ($8K). The difference in total cost is (1+tax)*3500 or about $3700. About $2000 of this will hold over next 3 years. $1700 or $600 per years is worth it for a very special personal car.
2) May be hard to get loan anywhere but through Garden Grove Datsun.
3) It is just what I want. I've wanted one for quite a while. AWESOME.
