I suppose I should just do some rate at which I "feel comfortable." Maybe $10000/month. This means I'll sell more shares when it's cheap, whichc is not such a great idea---I suppose I should sell the same number of shares per month, as that is what you do when you buy mutual fund with $$. That is, you sell the same number of $$ per month to get some shares. When buying with MSFT, I should buy with the same number of shares per month.
Let's say 200 shares/month, and buy as man $$, bonds, or stocks as I want, probably based on what's cheapest that month since they all are unpredictable.
12:15 Just called Schwab
MSFT 56 3/4
Compaq +4
DOW +160
So it's was an over-reaction. But it has taught me about the postponement of taxes, and the need to begin rebalancing assets now that my Microsoft stock is liquid.
Also it takes a long time to get through on days like today, so I'm pleased not to be a trader.
12:30 Look over yesterday's writing. Now I must decide what to do next.
12:45 OK to stay here to read if I want. No desire to go to gym here or Glens.
1:00 Realize one big advantage of not selling MS - no income tax if I pass it on to heirs or charities. But still I should begin selling some, so that I feel like I have possession, even if its just a few hundred/month. Also maybe sell enough to buy house without loan, unless price of loan is low.
Change clothes. Misc
1:15 Go to lunch at Rusty Pelican, skimming Chap 4 of "Animation." Go to Corona Del Mar beach bluff and look over Chap 5-Chap 8, getting quite bored since it only had to do with uninspired technical issues. Get out of car to lay in sun, and read Chaps 9-12, more interesting.
