8:45 Got up. Overslept... dark gray clouds. Go to QFC. Misc. [?] 10:15 WSJ. Called Schwab about Wiring money - $15 per transaction. Microsoft Quote Cost of trading $100 shares, Max $49 So I will sell via Schwab if not for low price, just to diversify my brokerages, and have some money York doesn't know about. Fill out Schwab One account. Write up reasons under operations for opening this account today. 11:15 Go to bank to get 369 MS shares and take to Schwab. Stop at Buddy Squirrells Read about SchwabLine PhonePrinter. 1:00 Make and eat lunch, reading about "Market Express" advisory via MCI mail, same concept as SchwabLine in a sense. 1:45 To Microsoft. Work on bugs. Dinner at Rax. 10:00 Print Move DB. 11:15 Go home. Put stuff away. Got IBM SAA overview 12:00 To bed.

7:30 Get up. Misc. 9:00 Watch Good Company about Aids Healing Alternatives 9:45 To Microsoft. Work on bugs. Lunch with the [?]W guys. More bugs. 2:30 Leave for gym, via home get gym clothes + msg's + mail 3:15 Workout. Pretty after getting going. Up to 6 @ 205 on Decline Press! 5:30 Shower. Talk w/ Tom Thompson. Says he expected me at David + Todd's. Felt bad that I didn't go. But it wasn't what I wanted then. Also talked with [?] - Ron. Looks good w/ tan. 6:00 Pick up Chivas. Have Cal Cooler Make + eat spaghetti. Read WSJ. After dinner Chivas + chocolate. Change clothes. 7:15 To Bill Gates house. Expect a lot but much less grand. See it from street. Brown boathouse. White brick house. Not much character to furnishings. Dining room not separate. Had a good time talking w/ summers. Talked with David Pritchard too. Just 25 And Jeff [?]. Had a Cal. SAT JULY 18 7:45 Wake up a little woozy from alcohol. Got a call Meg. Reasons not to go Weather, need time to myself Call her. Raining in Portland. 8:30 Shower, etc 9:00 PeeWee Herman + Breakfast

SUN JULY 19 7:45 Get up. Misc. Back at investing in crisis a bit. Wishy washy. No firm numbers, and no scorecard. And [?] Digest doesn't follow it. So I decide to cancel + I write letter to 'em requesting refund for remaining subsc. 9:45 Put books to go on new bookshelf over by where it will be. Make notes on how this apt can still hold a few more books and is adequate for city living, even though I miss having a view, fireplace, etc. Put unused appliances away in kitchen, and make it feel more spacious. Not having microwave doens't hurt me. 11:00 Go drive now on cloudy, but rainy day, and see what view I'm missing, if any. Olympic ridge when obscured by clouds is not at all pretty, and especially the view from 13th is nondescript since the sound is so far away. Similarly, the views from Pontage Bay Hillside are especially ugly in clouds, with [?] school. And view from Lakeview Cemetary Park is not great, again due to distance to lake. BUT MADISON PARK'S HILLSIDE DRIVE IS STILL VERY NICE, AS IT IS NEAR THE WATER AND EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN'T SEE CASCADES DUE TO CLOUDS, HILL NEAR SOMERSET ARE VISIBLE. 12:00 Make + eat lunch while I wash the beige chairs. Watch Importance of Being Earnest. Call Masins. Summer sale. Donna not work there. 1:15 Go to Maisins. The wall unit with double doors bottom + [?] doors top on sale for $1400 is best bet. But wait till tomorrow to order. 2:15 Head for gym. McDonalds for coffee. Wasn't up for gym, but not bad after awhile when tan guy [?] in black shorts and tank-top showed up. Good inspiration. 5:15 Go by Microsoft. Nothing pressing to do. That's a change!! Xerox letter tp KCI. 5:45 Stop at Wendy's for dinner. Stop at Safeway for bread + candy. Stop at Bellevue P.O. to mail letter to KCI. Investing in crisis.

Go to 1831 Evergreen PT Road to look at house once again. Made notes for realty section of financial notebook. Go home. 7:30 Put stuff away. Shower since I was sweaty at gym. 8:15 Write up notes on house in Seattle. 9:00 Try to call Dan Donahue at Cabin. Watch "As Is". 11:00 To bed.

MON JULY 20

6:45 Getup. Misc. Read WSJ. Read July 6 Infoworld, carefully considering any special meanings for me. 10:30 Put DB notes in order in notebook. 11:45 Make + eat lunch. Skimming SAA brochure. 12:30 Read some DB Design notes. SAME OLD DB FEELING. 2:15 Get ready to go to gym. 2:30 Go to gym, parking in stall #13. In about 30 minutes, I hit my forehead on chinup bar + see Bryce (+ try to [?] him due to pain of embarrassment of getting some asshole get to me, telling me how to do chinups and then my shoulder starts to hurt during shrugs. Face it, it's too crowded with awfully uninspiring people. SO DON'T GO IN THE AFTERNOONS. Leave to get out of stall #13. 3:30 At home. Advil, Parafon, Tequila. 3:45 Go order bookcase at Masins. 4:45 Finish looking at DB. No go definitely. Shoulder pain is very stressed. Put away DB notebooks w/ DB books on 4GL, etc. 6:30 So what will I do. Think about what all this info means to people. But then I didn't do [?] game well. 6:45 J/o. Shower to clean up + relax back. 7:15 Make + eat dinner while philosophizing about all this data being collected. Archive old Infoworld, Byte + Macworld in basement "library". Do mail.
