SUNDAY, OCT 23

Breakfast at Ritz.

FINISH ACCOUNTS thru 10/83 CBS. How can I get a good balance sheet?

12:30 There are the 9/30 + 10/15 paychecks which haven't been entered. Th 9/30 probably offsets outstanding checks + credid cards for Expenses. After all it is 1993.46. There was no VISA usage, remember, because I'd lost it + didn't get the new one till October.

Checks outstanding:

343 Rent $575 (for October expense, so forget it) 344 Amer Exp $405.87 (just a transfer payment to cover that liability) 345 VOID 346 Schuller $100 (for October) 347 Snow's $14.35} October expense 348 Kuharic $35.00 } 349 Dr. Bob for bus $25 } 350 MC $201.34} just a transfer payment to cover that liability 351 City Light $6.04 insignificant 352 Western Van October expense.

So no checks should be entered in I'm interested in an accurate Balance Sheet.

But I should enter the one paycheck, and also the reimb of $237 to clear that.

The only outstanding cash advances are for 9/30 + 10/10, indicating that I was just out of cash at the end of September and that cash was for October use (so don't enter them).

[red ink] Note that outstanding tax liability is not taken into account here. [/red ink]

I entered all the American Express (except for Bon tight's which is October) and none of the Mastercharge's which were all 9/28 or later. And as I said, I entered the 9/30 Pay deposit + $237.38 reimbursement.

Also I entered the cash expenses for September ($32 parking at airport + $20 each to Fred + Heidi for birthday).

[red ink] So now what is my balance sheet, compared to October 1980? [/red ink]

What does this mean? Clearly I have the benefit of other money I have spent, as on travel + HBS. This figure however represents TANGIBLE ownership of assets that can be converted into $$, or at least appraised. Nobody can say what my education or my memories are worth.

They may be worth a lot to me, esp pyschological fulfillment. But that is not the reward I'm seeking nowadays. I want to attain a much bigger financial net worth.

But I don't want to give up my claim to a psychologically fulfilling life. For that reason, I want to work on PF. But I can't do it here. [noted in green ink] 11/19 SO DON'T PROGRAM. [/note] Winter is too long. Maybe LA + hardcore coding?

All that dental work won't make me $$, but it was important. Good to have it out of the way!

[red ink unless otherwise noted] [noted in top margin in blue ink] Blue is 11/17 [/note /blue ink]

So this gives me yet another reason to ask for doubling of salary 1) Build my wealth [blue ink] convince Bill!! [/blue ink] 2) to pay for LA as well [blue ink] don't do programming [/blue ink] 3) I'm rarely qualified for this tasst, and I don't want to prostitute myself WHO ELSE HAS THE PERSONALITY FOR THIS? 4) Psychological fulfillment is not enough to turn me on. [blue ink] I need to be comfortable with arrangement. [/blue ink] [noted in left margin in red ink] WHO ELSE HAS A TEST SET OF TRANSACTIONS LIKE I DO? [/red ink] [blue ink with arrows to left margin note, #4, and #5] NOTHING NEW [/blue ink /note] 5) Lots of intense work is needed to catch up to D + S 6) I want time to myself really: music, robotics, travel, fun, psych enjoy having done SORT. 5 weeks vacation anyway! [noted in left margin in blue ink] RIGHT!!! [/note /blue ink] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Same thing goes for time. For that reason I want to make sure that my use of time is building real assets that will be long-lived, such as ownership in Microsoft, gay relationships ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------7) Microsoft not only wants a good PF but is gambling in retail + needs risk reduction. I AM RELIABLE. I FINISH THE JOB. [noted in left margin in blue ink] NOTHING NEW [/note /blue ink]
