This is in answer to your letter to "Stanford Alumni in military service ".

Perhaps I at first I should point out that I am no longer in the service. When I returned from two years duty in India due to the contraction of a tropical disease I was later released to active duty upon recovery. At that time I made application and was accepted into dental school under the A.S.T.P. This took place last March a year ago. As you will know the A.S.T.P was discontinued, this we in dental school were given the choice of returning to active duty or else accepting a discharge to continue our dental studies. This I did last October and I have now completed

[a?] year and a half school [work?] and should complete my studies in March 1947 and receive a D.D.S. at that time. I am receiving benefits from the G.I. Bill of Rights and am entitled to four years schooling under that program. I am undecided at present as to whether or not I will do post graduate work when I finish dental school, consequently I can't see that my case will have much bearing on the program to be outlined at Stanford in the future years.

Nevertheless, I do take a deep interest in the school and its abilities and I certainly hope that I will continue to be informed of these trends.

As for personal criticism or advice concerning the future of Stanford I'm not sure that I can be of much assistance. Having left the Farm in the

[fall?] of 1941, all my memories of school life are [?] they were [in?] days before we became involved in war and conflict.
