Mr. Donald B. Tresidder
President
Stanford University
California

Dear Sir,

I have received your letter and will try to answer the questions you have asked me to consider.

I do hope to return to Stanford and continue to work for the degree in Civil Engineering. Upon leaving Stanford I was ordered to the University of California in the [V-12] program. There I continued to work for a degree, but due to the different requirements could not quite fulfill them.

I doubt if my program would be changed very much although right now I don't know where I stand. I would like to live on campus, but my home is in Mountain View and might stay there. As for extra-curricular activities, I realize now that I missed a lot at Stanford by missing them. I used to be a fair quarter miler and would like to take a crack at it again for one thing.

I will inform the Records Bureau of my whereabouts at present.

Yours truly,

Walter D. Schwab
