Dear Mr.President,

I was very glad to receive your letter of good wishes from Stanford. It is good news to hear that the school is doing so well in spite of these war weary times.

I completed my second quarter of my junior year before being called on April 5, 1943. I was fortunate enough to return to Stanford under ASTP and finish tow accredited quarters in mechanical engineering. As I now lack only 17 units for graduation, I feel sure that I will return to Stanford when the war is over. I may alos take a post graduate course in business if I find I have the time and facilities.

I believe that courses for the veterans should emphasize the practical application of the subject more so than they did in pre-war times. The [view?]

and A.A. directors here at Aberdeen. Lt's William Paul, Bill Ross and Earl [Bufaber?] are also on the [Previewing Ground?]. We talk over the good old days quite often.
