Dear Mr. Tresidder:
Pardon the delay in answering your March letter. Was pleased to receive it and learn that Stanford is thinking of its "war veterans".
In answer to your questions - No, I do not plan on returning to Stanford. I feel that I am a little too old, and most important of all I plan on continuing in the insurance business after the war, it being the business I had made a start in.
In housing conditions - If I were returning I should wish the continuance of fraternity houses. (One of the most pleasant memories of Stanford.) The housing conditions for males, I believe, was very satisfactory before the war.

[-ed?] program for the veteran alone - if such were possible, to enable him to complete his education rapidly and get out into his life's work. I say veterans alone, because if every on were to enjoy this, the situation would be never-ending.
Censorship regulations prohibit writing more; so you must read between the lines. As I said, I don not plan on returning to Stanford, but possibly you can use this letter as a substitute for someone unable to answer your letter.
Thank you again for your thought.
Sincerely, Howard P. Stassforth, Jr.
P.S. Your war records on myself are complete, except that I am now in the [Marianas?] Islands.
