Somewhere in the Pacific June 3, '45

Dear Dr. Tresidder,

I was very happy to receive your letter which you sent out to the Stanford servicemen in March. It is gratifying to realize the plans which you are making toward return of servicemen to undergraduate work.

You put forth several questions, to which our answers might aid in the problems of readjustment. The answers to these will probably addone more to many difficult problems

I transfered to Stanford in my sophomore year and was there only a short time before entering the service. However, I would like very much return to Stanford and resume my studies. My main interest is in Aeronautical Engineering , although at the time of my stay of Stanford that curriculum was all in graduate work. a degree?

As far as housing and extra-curricular activities are concerned, the pre-war set-up seemed to be sufficient. However, I imagine that that its status would depend upon the size of Stanford's post-war enrollment. One thing which I personally, would like to see resumed is the CAA pilot training program.

Thank you for your encouraging letter. I hope the day is not too far off when we can once more return to Stanford.
