[Easter?] 1945 in Germany

Dear Dr. Tresidder,

Your letter to Stanford Alumni [received?] today. We've had our death and destruction let us hope the [resurrection?] is not too far away.

You want to know what to do for the returning veterans? My suggestion is to give them as near to what Stanford has always given, the best, in the way it has always been given and forget about what this ordeal has been and help us forget it by giving back to us the U.S.A. just as near as possible to what it was when we left and especially Stanford and its courses and its ideals.
