[Thursday 15 March 1883]
Very hot all day, we did nothing
particular. Worked — Ernie, Mr.
Murray & we 3 girls had a dance
at the back of the house after tea
[Friday 16]
Mr. Murray, Mr. Ernie, Edith & I
went for a ride to the "Basin"
about 5 miles away. Coming
back, Ernie & I rode over a big
brown Snake, they tried to find
& kill it, but it had disappeared.
Mr. Willis came from Margaret
Vale at about ½ past 7 in the
evening. Mr. Tudor. Shadforth is
ill with fever so will not be
down till tomorrow. Danced for
an hour or two.
