[Sunday 1 April 1883]
Mr. Clark the other Sub inspector came
back with his detachment yesterday,
& came to luncheon & dinner today.
I don't care much for him what I
have seen as yet. The girls, Mr.
Shadforth & Mr. Taylor went on a
ride in the afternoon. I sat by
poor Ernie all day nearly. He
is very ill. Donnolen was here from
the Norman last week & he says Mr.
Favenc is not coming until the next
boat, so poor old Harry will have to
wait all this time doing nothing.
The next boat is due on the 5th.
