My Dear Elizabeth

Camden 24th. Febr. 1832

James will inform you how well I am, and acquaint you with all my movements here – I hope that you and all around you are well – Could not one of you if the weather be propitious, be persuaded to accompany him in his return, to assist at the vintage, which William hopes to commence on Monday – but I have my fears.

I found wanting, in com paring my wardrobe with the written list – a dressing Gown two Waistcoats – two pair of Stockings – and one neck Cloth You have accounted to me for the appropriation of one waistcoat, but do you know what is become of the remainder? – In future, if it please God, I will dispose of my own half worn Clothes, and relieve other people

from the task of giving away what is not their own.

I have at last broken the Ice and written dear Edward rather a long Letter – I found it a fearfully distressing task but I made a determined exertion, and was successful.

Wine by the first Cart 1 doz Port to be drawn from the Cask. 2 doz of Sherry. ½ doz of Sauterne.

I send this to show the state of mind your father was in when he wrote the Letter [checked?] to you
