My Dear Sir,
This Day I have had the Pleasure of delivering to Capt. Higton a Box containing several Packets to which I have to request your attention, and that You will have the Goodness to forward them as addressed. – Amongst them is a Packet containing my Accts. remittances &c for our joint Acct. which I hope will reach You in safety, as some time may elapse before another Opportunity of writing direct may offer. –
I have been extremely disappointed in my expectations of the Market and fear it will be some considerable time before I shall sell the Wine which from the great Quantity of Cape in the Market is at present unsaleable – I now remit £2029. and hope by the next Opportunity to make some considerable addition to it – You

You will see by my Letter to the House what our Loss on the Spirits may be con=sidered and this is a ready Money Article at all times. –
We arrived here on the 18th. of Augt. aboard the Isabella, had Capt. Higton been more attentive might have been out of this Harbor long ago. – The Governor has occasioned her detention these last three weeks; One half of which time has been taken up in clearing the ship through the different Offices. – Obstacles being purposely thrown in our way to save Govt. the Demurrages
A Repition [Repetition?] of our shipment in any one Article, would not answer under existing Circumstances, therefore I refrain from making any observations as to what might best suit the Market. – The Isabella has

has damaged most of our dry Goods and is by no means fitted for this voyage. – She is now in better order than ever and I hope will sell well. – In the Box I put up a few Sydney Gazettes which may afford you some amusement. – With best Compts. to Mrs. Keir, and wishing You every Happiness – I remain
