(1855) 18th Thursday noon lat 57.41 long. 177. 6 Temp in Saloon – – 57° Barometer 29.70 Course about East [indecipherable] S. Distance run since yesterday 240

weighed from Hobsons Bay on the 9th about noon steamed against a light head wind and closed the entrance of the Port by dusk At day light on the 10th Wilsons Promontory & Rodondo toward on our Port Below 20-25 miles dist[ant] wind becoming fair- Passed Kents [page damaged] – light house very visible to naked eye about 6 or 8 miles to the Southward [page damaged] Flinders & Cape Barren Islands the distance when wind headed as [page damaged] S E about 4 P.M. with a squall of rain course altered to E by N [page damaged] wind from S. E to S all next [page damaged] days – course from S gradually [changed?] to S. E by S. - Progress slow
