Meadows says his rheumatism
is so bad from constant draught
She is wheeled into the front hall
to look out on the garden – & then
she orders the back door to be
opened. few can imagine the draught
in which alone she seems to breathe –
She begged me to drive with her as
formerly – but I know that it is
necessary that she takes her maid
& her nurse – for she is helpless
however she was so thoroughly evidently
disappointed that I said I should
be glad if she would take me to the
station – (close by) & going down
she put her hand on mine & said
"Dear Eml I could shut my eyes
"& dream that I saw you again a
"little infant at your brothers side
"she sent for me to come & see you"
