Tallahassee Febry 24. 1848

Sir

Some time since, I had the honor of addressing your Excellency, soliciting the appointment of Commis siner of Deeds for the State of Tennessee in this State since which time, I have heard nothing of it.

The petitioners were recommended by His Excellency the Governor, Hon. Secretary of State, Attorney General, and wher heads of apointments, besides many influential citizensof the State,

As I hold appointment of the same kind under several other States, and would be pleased to be honored with me for the State of Tennessee, your Excellency will greatly oblige me, by conferring the favor solicited.

With Sentiments of highest esteem Your Ex'ys obt Serv't G.M. Hutchins

Should the favor asked, be granted, be pleased to direct the Commission to me at "Office of the Secretary of State" G.M.H.
