Nashville Tenn. 9th December 1848

To his Excellency Neill S. Brown, Governor of the State of Tennessee

In obedience to the seventh section of the Act passed by the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee, on the 17th January 1848, entitled "An Act prescribing the mode of choosing Electors to veto for President and Vice President of the United States", the undersigned Electors of President and Vice President hereby inform you that we are here present at the seat of Government, before the hour of twelve O'Clock on the day next preceding the day fixed by law of Congress to elect as President and Vice President of the United States and that we are seveally ready, at the proper time, to perform the duties of Electors.
