Pres of the State of Tennessee Sir Allow me to direct your attention to the following report of a lone matter of the New York State agricultural society.

Stockholm inquire of them on "the subject of his preperation of Chemical [illegible] "respectfully report, that they have carefully examined "the same, and from the Statements made and [illegible] "by Mr B. Gilford consider it a very vulnerable dis "covery-The results of the experiments made last "season are truly wonderful, and upon further "trial it shall prove equally satisfactory Mr "Stockholm will [illegible] great [illegible] for the "discovery, and will stand in the enviable "position of being a great benefactor to his "country, [illegible]."
The further [illegible], see the transactions of the New York State agricultural society, for the year 1846 Page 312 Sir The then experiment have been made. If the result proves equally satisfactory[illegible] one [illegible] I have no doubt my Chemical [illegible] is one of the most powerful and valuable [illegible] in America The materials of [illegible] it is [illegible] are abundant in [illegible] Tennessee, and also I presume in every other part of the StateWe have already been successfully applied to wheat, corn, potatoes, collards, carrots, beets cucumbers, melons, [illegible] house plants & peach trees.
