I've just got a letter from Dr Hoy - He gives the following three names of persons - to be invited to the Excursion I suppose E. W. Edgerton Esq. Pres't Wis. St. Ag'l Soc'y, Genesee, Waukesha Co. Wis. I. A. Lapham Esq. Milwaukee, Wisconsin S S Dagget Esq. Milwaukee, Wis
Dr Fitch's address is "Asa Fitch M.D. East Greenwich Washington Co, N.Y.
You ask if I know of any one whom might well be invited - Mr Cassin is one though he wo'nt come I fancy. "John Cassin Acad. Nat. Sciences, Philadelphia Penn". You might invite Prof Holbrook though he would not be at all apt to come "Prof J. E. Holbrook Charleston S.C."
It would be well to invite Dr Harris the Entomologist He is waking up again - Perhaps he might fancy the trip Doubtful though Write his name in full or he'll get mad "Thaddeaus William Harris M.D. Cambridge, Mass."
Would it not be well to compliment David Thomas by an invitation. It is not probable he could come I enclose a letter from Dr Brinckle giving names of Persons who are eligible invitees.
Dr Le Conte is a great Entomologist & should be invited. He may come. Joseph Leidz M.D. is a young man of very good reputation He is author of Ff of "Flora & fauna within living animals" &c Is a man of consequence "Dr John L. Le Conte M.D. Philadelphia Penn" "Joseph Leidz M.D. Philadelphia Penn."
The persons I have named will not be apt to accept the invitation it is true (perhaps you might expect the attendance of about two) but you have an oppportunity to compliment them. without
A letter came to day from Samuel Adams of Jacksonville who says he cannot write an article on bread making according to his promise.

All well - I shall make a pretty respectable catalogue. will of "Animals of Cook Co". nearly 200 birds.
In your invitations to persons to attend the Fair dont in the D'C's name mention this R R Collection as any great thing as I fear it wont amount to much except in the way of grain
