Yours was rec.d last night. Family all well, was glad to learn you had secured Holbrooks present. I hope you will be prompt & thorough, in obtaining & remitting to him every thing in the way of specimens he may require - It was my assurance that you would be thorough & faithful in aiding him in his pursuits, which obtained the work for you - The acquaintance & correspondance of such a man is worth more than the price of the Books. -
Prof. St. John has been sick for weeks - & Ackley worse than sick - & Prof Delimater was embargoed at by snow at the East for two weeks - As a consequence I have been compelled to lecture twice & often thrice a day till I am worn out - One week more & the term closes - Ackley had resigned & left
I am engaged in reading Belknaps History of New Hampshire. - Am surprized to find that he knew as much of Natl History at that day. -
Peaches & Cherries most killed by the winter. Green House (new one) in fine order, and very showey at this time. -
