The Grove May 3rd 1857 Sunday morning Dear Bob We have not had a letter from you in sevral days, but I suppose you are too busy to write. It is a beautiful morning. The grass looks very green; we have sevral lonely bouquets in the house Do you see many flowers "down there"? Our wild flowers are just coming out. We do think of you very often and miss you a great deal - more than you think. I guess it would be a good thing for us all to hear that woman schold. I shall be happy to hear that you are cured of your loud talking. Uncle Flint is truly a diamond

in the rough: and one that can never be polished Uncle Flint is almost too good, he is always too ready to sacrifice his own pleasures to those of others. I skined a snipe and a blackbird, yesterday, I suppose you will say why don't you skin silvias, for a very good reason, I skin all the birds I can get, and that is not very many - also the mice, are few, The little boy are not to be had, that is they are always doing something els, I shall get what I can of all animals, but you must not expect much - and then you will not be disappointed if I do not get them. this summer - I begin to think we never shall know any thing. We never shall study at home, unless we have a teacher, there is always so much work to do - and it seems wrong to read and write when I see Mother working all the time. boys work on sundy - that he can never be satisfied unless they do work - allday sunday - All the folks are talking so I can not think.
