Dear Bob,

I have sent by Am. Express to day two boxes - unpaid as you directed. One box is birds, the other is of shells. The marine shells are at the bottom, the fresh water bivalves at one end of the top & the land shells & fr. water univalves at the other thus

able to find Judson to inquire whether there is anything for the University afoot. When I can catch him in, I will find out & send if there is anything There are no more copies of the Agricl. Trans. in town Frank says.

I think this is the grandest kind of an idea to get our shells named by authority. You are a trump - go it. I wish you would find out all the little things we ought to know about arranging cabinets etc. What is the best way to label shells?

especially the smooth ones whose labels drop off as they would from oiled glass. The snow has prevented me from going to the coal fields as yet. We are well Get all you can for the So Academy consistently with your obligations to the University. [Ned?]
