Eyes a little better - but bad enough. Have written a little this morning, but not read any lately -

About money; let me know soon - I need two or three weeks to make a raise - We have now enough to pay the girl, and perhaps buy a [illegible] of pork - and the materials for packing trees - I presume I can borrow in Chi[cago?] [page torn] some $50. to $100. if you can not get it otherwise - and, possibly, we may have it, without borrowing, in a month, or so - as cash - with orders, ought to come in, by 1st of April - at all counts, we could send easier, by & by, than now, doubtless - But you must not be let to want come what will - and I think you ought to stay there till then mid=dle of April, any way. So write definitely - If we are to raise the money we will do it, if possible - But I may have to go to town to do it, and cant go in bad weather -
