For the alcoholic specimens in bottles and for many other things cases of shelves with glass doors can be built against the walls. These for the convenience in moving about, to suit circumstances had best be made in sections of about 5 feet They should be 8 feet high and one foot deep 15 inches deep in the clear on the outside., A little few inches difference in the width of each case is unimportant, but 5 feet measuring on the outside but would be a convenient length leaving the doors of about the right size to have glass twelve inches wide. The Each case would have the front composed of two glass doors opening on hinges and fastened by a lock. The sash of these doors need not be very heavy The moulding had best be pretty simple and light and there should be none on the ends of most of or at least not till they the cases – as they will be about four placed together end to end generally – occupying chiefly the south and east sides of the north room probably. The mouldings for about 6 ends could be prepared to be put on when the position of the cases is determined The cases need no backs being placed against the walls. The shelves are to rest at each end upon movable cross pieces let into notches in the corners of the upright parts in the corners as in the before described – they can thus be shifted to suit the heights of the bottles placed upon them. Each case will need about twelve shelves 6 of these as wide as the depth of the case (about 14 inches) the others only 6 inches wide. The shelves should be of strong inch stuff boards ¾ inch when dressed The doors should
