Mr Robert Kennicott
Dr Sir
I am sorry that I could not get that Crochet Needle mended sooner, it was necessary to have it set in an ivory handle and as the person who had it made, was unwilling to trouble himself much about it, I took it to another, who unfortunately disappointed me two days. Not until this afternoon could I succeed in getting it done; I hope you will be pleased with it.
I am surprised to hear that there has been some insects packed up and sent to me by mistake; unless there is a box yet to come, which I have not recieved there are none but Orthoptera a few Hemiplera, and the Lepidoptera in this lot, you had better ascertain whether Prof. Baird has sent me a box. for I have not yet recieved one, and if there are

any Hymenoptera there included, of which you speak, it may be all right.
I wish you could at leaste make a short stay with me before leaving. I have the Orthoptera and Lepidoptera ready for you, the rest I will have done seasonably. I cant however select your specimens from the Smithsonian collections, however, unless Prof. Baird sends them up soon, I shall not have time.
Wishing you all success,
I remain as ever
Sincerely yours P R Uhler
