[printed letterhead] No. [written] 936 [printed] Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D. C. [written] Aug. 8 [printed] 18 [written] 58

Dear Robert

Yours of Aug. 3' was duly received. I hope you and Ulke will have a good time in Wisconsin: wish I could be along.

We leave tomorrow for Carlisle, Pa. to which place direct letters till Sept. 25. I take ten boxes filled with specimens, including all the Saurians[?] I shall have my hands well full.

Donald Gunn sent a lot of quite new things, which he wishes me to share with you

I have not sent any herbs[?] to the Red River, though I think I sent the microscopic pamphlet to Mactavish

I do not care about Emerys Journal particulary, though if it will not cost you anything to have it sent to me, I would be pleased to receive it

Ever Yours S. F. Baird
