Thursday Afternoon
Dear Bob.
Charlie Bragdon and Mr Emery are out here today and I am writeing this letter to send by them. We rec'd your letter this noon and were sorry h to hear that you must be detained in Chicago so long: we should have expected you out today, had the roads been better.
We recived a letter from Alice today, but she did not say on what day they intended returning to Chicago; we hope you will see them. A letter came [illegible] for you from Maria yesterday; the amount of the letter was that she expected you to make her a visit. Mother says when you get to Washington you had better write to her and tell her why you didint stop at Buffalo

I have decided to go to Chicago next week provided it don't rain too much. You probably will have gone before monday. If you see Frank tell him we shall expect him out very soon; ask him why he can't come out Saturday with Charlie
I went up to Uncle Hirams all alone on Jenny yesterday, and had a real first rate ride.
Goodby for I think they are about starting.
